Introduction About OCTRIDE 100MG INJECTION
OCTRIDE 100MG INJECTION is used in the management of acromegaly (a condition where body produces more amount of growth hormones), certain types of tumours of gastrointestinal tract (such as carcinoid tumours, VIPomas, glucagonomas, gastrinomas, insulinomas), pituitary tumours that produce too much thyroid-stimulating hormone when other types of treatment (surgery or radiotherapy) are not working and other pituitary hormone imbalances.
It can also be used to reduce complications like abscess in abdomen and inflammation following surgery of the pancreas and to stop bleeding from ruptured gastro-oesophageal varices in patients suffering from cirrhosis (chronic liver disease).
Octreotide mimics somatostatin, controlling the release of growth hormone, insulin, and gut hormones by binding to specific receptors. It reduces intestinal fluid secretion, slows gut movement, and tightens abdominal blood vessels, making it effective for managing acromegaly, hormone-secreting tumors, and certain bleeding conditions.

- Gallstone formation causing sudden back pain

How To Manage Side Effects
Dizziness Or Drowsiness

To manage a headache at home, start by resting in a quiet, dark room and applying a cold or warm compress to your forehead or neck. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, as dehydration can worsen headaches. Practicing relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or gentle neck and shoulder stretches can reduce tension.
