What is Nebivolol used for?                                            

Nebivolol is used to treat hypertension. It is also used to prevent stroke and heart attack in patients with heart disease.

Nebivolol may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

How does Nebivolol work?

Nebivolol belongs to the class of drugs called anti-hypertensive agents. This drug acts by blocking certain receptors in the heart, resulting in decreased heart rate and blood pressure. It also works by blocking the hormones released by the kidneys, which cause constriction of blood vessels. Thus, it helps in decreasing the high blood pressure.

How to take Nebivolol?

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take Nebivolol as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

If you miss a dose of Nebivolol, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.
