INTRODUCTION

NETASUDIL EYE DROPS contains Netarsudil which belongs to the group of medicines known as Rho Kinase Inhibitor. NETASUDIL EYE DROPS is indicated for reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in adult patients with primary open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

Primary open angle glaucoma is a type of glaucoma which develops over the period of time due to clogging of drainage channels of the eye. Glaucoma is an irreversible and progressive condition in which optic nerve gets damaged due to several reasons such as increased pressure caused by fluid build-up in front region of eye. Ocular hypertension can be defined as high intraocular (inside the eye) pressure due to disturbance in balance between production and outflow of aqueous humour (fluid inside the eye).

Inform your doctor before using NETASUDIL EYE DROPS if you have trauma to eye, planned eye surgery, dry eyes, concurrent eye disease or if you have ocular epithelial surface disruption as risk of bacterial keratitis (bacterial infection of outer layer of eye) is increased in such cases.

NETASUDIL EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before using. NETASUDIL EYE DROPS should be used with caution in breast feeding women. Consult your doctor before using.

NETASUDIL EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Consult your doctor before using.

If you wear contact lenses, it should be removed prior to instillation of this medicine and can be reinserted 15 minutes following its administration.

NETASUDIL EYE DROPS may cause some side effects such as conjunctival hyperaemia (dilation of vessels of conjunctiva due to inflammation), corneal verticillate (condition in which corneal deposits form faint golden-brown whorl pattern), conjunctival haemorrhage, instillation site pain and erythema. Consult your doctor immediately in case any of the above side effects worsens.

USES OF NETASUDIL EYE DROPS

  • Used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure in adult patients with primary open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension

HOW NETASUDIL EYE DROPS WORKS

NETASUDIL EYE DROPS is a rho kinase inhibitor, works by reducing intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing the outflow of aqueous humour (transparent fluid in eye which is important for maintaining pressure inside eye and nourishment of our natural lens) through relaxation of trabecular meshwork.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Instil NETASUDIL EYE DROPS into the affected eye as directed by your doctor. NETASUDIL EYE DROPS is for ophthalmic use only. Do not inject or swallow the medicine. Wash your hands before using and avoid touching the nozzle/dropper while using the medicine as it may contaminate the medicine.

Your doctor will decide exact dose and duration according to your disease condition, body weight, and age. The tip of the dispensing container should avoid contacting the eye, surrounding structures, fingers, or any other surface in order to avoid contamination of the solution.
