INTRODUCTION

NEBZMART 0.5MG contains Budesonide which belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. It works by reducing and preventing swelling and inflammation in lungs. Asthma is a condition in which airways narrow, swells and produces extra mucus and makes breathing difficult and trigger coughing, wheezing when breathe out and shortness of breath. This medicine is used to treat asthma and helps to prevent and control asthma symptoms and also used to treat croup in infants and children. It is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid that exhibits potent glucocorticoid activity and weak mineralocorticoid activity.

Use this medicine as instructed by your doctor. The dose you take will depend on your age, other medications you are taking and whether you have any kidney or liver problems. Before using this NEBZMART 0.5MG, tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis, infections, liver disease, pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor will prescribe dose depending on your child’s age and body weight. The common side effects are throat irritation, stuffy nose and respiratory infections.

USES OF NEBZMART 0.5MG

  • Treats asthma and helps to prevent and control asthma symptoms

HOW NEBZMART 0.5MG WORKS

NEBZMART 0.5MG is a corticosteroid that exhibits an anti-inflammatory action. It works by preventing the cells in the lungs and breathing passages from releasing chemical messengers that cause inflammation of the airways. This widens the airways and makes breathing easier.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use this medicine according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. It should be taken at regular intervals once or twice a day, as directed. Do not double the dose.

SIDE EFFECTS OF NEBZMART 0.5MG

COMMON

  • sore nose and throat
  • stuffy and runny nose
  • respiratory infections
  • ear infections

RARE

  • swelling of face particularly around your mouth, rash, itching, contact dermatitis, hives and bronchospasm
  • allergic reaction
  • sudden wheezing

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Sore nose and throat:

Drink warm liquid, caffeine free tea or warm water with honey. Gargle with saltwater. It warms and helps to soothe the throat.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY

NEBZMART 0.5MG should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.

BREASTFEEDING

NEBZMART 0.5MG should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

This medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to driving or using machines.

LIVER

NEBZMART 0.5MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.

ALLERGY

Do not use if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Budesonide.

OTHERS

Inform your doctor if you have,

  • infections
  • brittle bones
  • elevated eyeball pressure (glaucoma) or grey cataract
  • acute episodes of asthma

INTERACTIONS

Inform your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or the following,

  • ketoconazole or itraconazole (used to treat infection)
  • clarithromycin, erythromycin
  • ritonavir, cobicistat and nelfinivir
  • prednisone
