What is MOXIF?

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
- have ever had a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic known as a fluoroquinolone, or if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this medicine
- have tendon problems, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or other history of joint problems
- have a disease that causes muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis)
- have central nervous system problems (such as epilepsy)
- are suffering from Peripheral neuropathy
- have or anyone in your family has an irregular heartbeat, especially a condition called “QT prolongation”
- have low blood potassium (hypokalemia)
- have kidney problems
- have diabetes or problems with low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
- It is not known if this medicine passes into breast milk
- It is not known if MOXIF will harm your unborn child
- Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant
Talk to your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any of the following medicines
- Pain killers such as diclofenac, paracetamol
- blood thinner (warfarin)
- medicine to control your heart rate or rhythm (antiarrhythmic)
- anti-psychotic medicines
- tricyclic antidepressant
- oral anti-diabetes medicine or insulin
- erythromycin
- water pill (diuretic)
- steroid medicines since corticosteroids taken by mouth or by injection may increase the chance of tendon injury
- antacids,multivitamins or other product that has magnesium, aluminum, iron, or zinc
- sucralfate
- didanosine oral suspension or solution
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- allergic reactions
- hives
- trouble breathing or swallowing
- swelling of the lips, tongue, face
- throat tightness, hoarseness
- rapid heartbeat
- faint
- yellowing of the skin or eyes (liver problem)
- skin rash
- serious heart rhythm changes (QT prolongation and Torsade De Pointes)
- intestine infection (pseudomembranous colitis)
- changes in blood sugar
- sensitivity to sunlight (Photosensitivity)
