MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET contains Montelukast which belongs to the group of medicines called Leukotriene Receptor Antagonists. It is used to treat and prevent the signs and symptoms of asthma and seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and in adolescents (aged 15 years or older). It can also be used to prevent bronchospasm (narrowing of airways) triggered due to exercise.
Asthma is a long-term respiratory disease in which your airways become inflamed, swollen and narrowed. It also causes excessive mucous secretion in the airways which makes it difficult for the air to pass through, leading to unpleasant symptoms like wheezing, difficulty in breathing, chest pain and/or cough.
Seasonal allergic rhinitis (also known as hay fever) is an allergic condition triggered due to exposure of oneself towards various allergens (such as pollens, dusts, mould or flakes of skin from certain animals). It is often characterized by inflammation of the inner lining of nose accompanied by nasal congestion, repeated sneezing and/or a red, watery or itchy eyes.
MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET can only prevent you from getting an asthmatic attack. It will not stop an asthma attack that has been started already. Therefore, always carry an inhaled rescue medicine with you to subside the symptoms.
Take MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET for the duration prescribed by your doctor to achieve better control over the symptoms. Before taking MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET inform your doctor if you are allergic to montelukast or have any pre-existing disease condition.
You must also inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET as a precaution. The most common side effects of taking MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET are stomach pain, headache, upper respiratory tract infections, skin rash, nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect troubles you.

Do not stop taking MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET once your symptoms subside without consulting your doctor.

Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET should be used in pregnant women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Your doctor will prescribe you with MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET after evaluating the risks and benefits of the therapy.
It is not known whether MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET can pass through breast milk. Therefore, it should be used in breastfeeding women only if considered necessary by the physician.
MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET usually does not affect your ability to drive or operate any machinery. However, do not drive or handle any heavy tools or machines if you feel dizzy or drowsy after taking MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET.
Do not take MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET if you are allergic to Montelukast.

No. Continue to use MONTEGRESS 10MG TABLET as long as your doctor prescribes it to you. Do not stop using this medicine or reduce the dose suddenly without consulting your doctor as it may make it less effective.
