Acute kidney injury with or without the presence of nephrotic syndrome may occur during treatment with METHIMERCAZOLE 10MG TABLET. Kidney function will be closely monitored by your doctor after the initiation of this medicine to prevent progressive renal dysfunction.

METHIMERCAZOLE 10MG TABLET is used in adults to treat hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland). It is also used to treat and prepare for thyroidectomy (removal of the thyroid gland) or for radioactive iodine treatment or used when the overactive thyroid gland cannot be removed. It works by decreasing the amount of thyroid hormone your body makes. Contact your doctor before taking it.

Yes, METHIMERCAZOLE 10MG TABLET may cause liver dysfunction. Symptoms include jaundice (yellowish discolouration of skin and whites of the eye), loss of appetite, itching and/or pain at right upper-quadrant of stomach. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any symptoms.
