No, LANAX EYE DROPS is only used to reduce increased pressure in the eye. Although timolol is a beta-blocker medicine, when given as an ophthalmic solution (eye drops), it helps in reducing only the elevated intraocular pressure in the eye. However, if you have an elevated blood pressure, contact your doctor for a suitable antihypertensive medicine. Avoid concomitant use of LANAX EYE DROPS with other antihypertensive medicine or beta-blockers on your own without consulting your doctor.
Can LANAX EYE DROPS cause bradycardia (slow heartbeat)?
Yes, LANAX EYE DROPS can cause decrease in heartbeat in some individuals, although not everybody gets them. Contact your doctor if you are experiencing any unusual symptoms such as breathing difficulty or abnormal heart rhythm etc. Before using LANAX EYE DROPS inform your doctor about previous medical history related to heart.
