INTRODUCTION ABOUT HISTOCALAMINE LOTION
Histocalamine Lotion is a soothing lotion used to calm red and itchy skin. It can be used in conditions like diaper rashes, prickly heat, pregnancy itching, post chickenpox and measle rashes in children, insect bites, viral fever rashes, pre and post plaster itch. It contains Diphenhydramine, Calamine and Camphor as active ingredients that helps to provide a cooling, soothing effect to inflamed skin areas.
Diphenhydramine works by blocking the release of chemicals called histamines, which are responsible to trigger skin irritations. Camphor has antibacterial and antifungal properties that helps to heal skin inflammation. It also gives a cooling sensation at applied site. Calamine helps to relieve itching, pain, and other skin irritations.
Always use Histocalamine Lotion exactly as advised by your healthcare professional. It is for external use only. Pour a small amount of lotion on your palm. Apply it on affected areas. Gently massage for 2 minutes so that it gets completely absorbed into the skin. Apply it 3-4 times daily. Do not apply Histocalamine Lotion on blistered, oozing, or raw areas of the skin. discontinue the use and contact a doctor if you experience any burning sensation.
