What HAVRIX 360IU is used for?

  • It helps to protect against Hepatitis A infection

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have liver disease
  • have poor or weakened immune system
  • have HIV (human immunodeficiency virus)
  • have hemophilia
  • Consult your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breast-feeding
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • This medicine can be given for children and adolescents above 16 years of age
  • This medicine is unlikely to have any effect on your ability to drive or use machines

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • neomycin (antibiotic)
  • phenylalanine
  • typhoid polysaccharide vaccine
  • yellow fever vaccine
  • immunoglobulins (antibodies obtained from blood donors)
  • This medicine will be given by a doctor or nurse
  • It should be injected into a muscle in the upper outer part of your arm or under the skin in case of any bleeding disorder

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • difficulty in breathing, blue discoloration of the tongue or lips
  • dizziness (low blood pressure) and collapse
  • swelling of the face and neck
  • mild pain at the injection site
  • generally feeling weak (asthenia)
  • headache, nausea or vomiting
  • loss of appetite
  • diarrhoea or stomach ache (abdominal pain)
  • pain in the muscles and joints (myalgia, arthralgia)
  • mild fever
  • redness (erythema) at the injection site
  • a lump formed at the injection site (injection site nodule)
  • mild and temporary changes in blood tests
  • fainting in response to injection
  • rashes that have sometimes been lumpy and itchy (including urticaria)
