What ENDOXAN N 1GM is used for?

 It is used to treat:

  • Malignant lymphomas
  • Multiple Myelomas
  • Leukemias
  • Mycosis Fungoides (Advanced disease)
  • Neuroblastoma (disseminated disease)
  • Carcinoma of the Breast
  • Retinoblastoma
  • Malignant neoplasms of the lungs

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine 
  • difficulty with urination
  • have severe suppression of bone marrow function
  • have severe kidney or liver problems
  • have active infection or suppressed immune system
  • have previously received radiation therapy
  • are suffering from any cardiac disease
  • have electrolyte problems or conditions that could lead to electrolyte disturbances
  • have low blood cells count
  • have cancer
  • have cystitis (bladder infection)
  • have abnormal serum creatinine
  • have had surgery in the previous 10 days, or have any upcoming surgery, including dental surgery, since cyclophosphamide may prevent normal wound healing
  • are going to receive any vaccine
  • Female patients should use an effective birth control while using this medicine, since it may cause harm to an unborn baby
  • Do not breast feed while taking this medicine, since neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, low hemoglobin, and diarrhea have been reported in infants breast fed by women treated with cyclophosphamide
  • Consult your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • It is not recommended for use in patients under 16 years of age
  • Do not drive or use machines, if you experience any side effect (e.g. dizziness or drowsiness) which may lessen your ability to do so

Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Especially the following:

  • Antibiotics (eg.ciprofloxacin, metronidazole, rifampin, chloramphenicol, sulfonamides)
  • Anticoagulants such as warfarin (Coumarin) 
  • Antidepressants (eg St. John’s wort, bupropion)
  • Anti-fungals (fluconazole, itraconazole)
  • Cimetidine (for acid reduction)
  • Corticosteroids such as prednisone
  • Medications to aid in the management of selected chronic alcohol patients (disulfiram)
  • Medications to treat rheumatoid arthritis (etanercept, indomethacin)
  • Lovastatin (for high cholesterol)
  • Medications to treat gout (allopurinol) 
  • Medications to treat seizures (eg. phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital)
  • Medications to treat high blood pressure such as ACE inhibitors and thiazide diuretics (eg.hydrochlorothiazide)
  • Medications to treat heart problems and abnormal heart rhythm (eg. amiodarone, digoxin, prasugrel, verapamil)
  • Medications to prevent vomiting (eg. aprepitant, ondansetron)
  • Medications to treat cancers (eg. busulfan, tamoxifen)
  • Medications that modulate immune system (eg.cyclosporine, azathioprine, methotrexate)
  • Sedatives (eg. chloral hydrate, benzodiazepines)
  • Medications to treat diabetes (sulfonylureas)
  • Medications to treat HIV (protease inhibitors, zidovudine)
  • Vaccines, especially live-vaccines
  • It should only be given by a doctor or nurse
  • It is to be given into the vein

If you take more ENDOXAN N 1GM

  • This medicine will be given to you in a hospital, under the supervision of a doctor. It is unlikely that you will be given too much or too little, however, tell your doctor or nurse if you have any concerns

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects although not everybody gets them.

Very Rare
  • cardiac toxicity
  • lung or liver injury
  • increased kidney and bladder injury
  • serious allergic reactions
  • vaccine induced infection
  • anemia
  • blood in urine
  • fever
  • loss of appetite
  • loss of hair
  • low platelet count
  • low white cell count
  • nausea or vomiting 
  • urinary problems
  • vein inflammation
  • diarrhea    
  • fatigue
  • low blood pressure
  • mouth inflammation 
  • peripheral neuropathy
  • skin inflammation
