INTRODUCTION

EFNOCAR 20MG contains Efonidipine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensives. It is indicated in the treatment of high blood pressure. EFNOCAR 20MG is also used to treat high blood pressure due to kidney diseases and angina (a certain type of chest pain). High blood pressure is a condition in which the force exerted by the circulating blood against the walls of the blood vessels is too high. The common symptoms are early morning headaches, irregular heart rhythms, nosebleeds, vision changes, and buzzing in the ears.

Efonidipine helps in the treatment of high blood pressure by acting on certain receptors which leads to relaxation of the blood vessels, aiding in easy flow of the blood and decreased heart rate. In angina it works by improving blood supply to the heart muscle which then receives more oxygen and as a result chest pain is prevented. It also reduces the pressure on kidneys, thus preventing the damage that is normally associated with high blood pressure.

Before taking EFNOCAR 20MG inform your doctor if you have liver or heart diseases. EFNOCAR 20MG is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women, including children. It should be used with caution in elderly patients. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking EFNOCAR 20MG because it may increase the blood pressure lowering effect of the medicine. The most common side effects of taking EFNOCAR 20MG are hot flushes, palpitations, facial flushing and headache. Consult your doctor if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.
