    Introduction About DOLOSIG LP TABLET

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is a combination of Lornoxicam and Paracetamol which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and Analgesics, respectively. It is used to manage mild to moderate joint pain and provides relief from inflammation of joints caused by certain types of rheumatic diseases (autoimmune and inflammatory disease) in affected individuals.

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Lornoxicam, Paracetamol, other NSAIDs including acetylsalicylic acid. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from thrombocytopenia (low blood platelet count that causes increased risk of bleeding/unusual bruising), gastrointestinal bleeding, rupture and bleeding of blood vessel in brain/other bleeding disorders. The medicine is also not indicated for use in patients suffering from active peptic ulcer or with a history of recurrent peptic ulcer, and/or in patients with severe heart/liver/kidney problems.

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women especially in first 6 months and last 3 months of pregnancy. It is also not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless it is clearly necessary. DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) which is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 60 years and above) after consulting the doctor. The most common side effects of taking DOLOSIG LP TABLET are mild headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET provides relief from pain and inflammation from rheumatic diseases where Lornoxicam and Paracetamol works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause inflammation and pain thus managing and providing relief from acute pain and inflammation caused by certain rheumatic diseases in affected individuals.

    How to use DOLOSIG LP TABLET

    Take DOLOSIG LP TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of DOLOSIG LP TABLET

    Common

    • Mild headache and dizziness
    • Abdominal pain, upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea

    Uncommon

    • Weight loss
    • Inability to sleep, depression
    • Eye discharge, ringing in ears
    • Cardiac failure, irregular heartbeat, rapid heart rate
    • Feeling blushed
    • Constipation, excessive wind, belching, dry mouth, gastritis (inflammation in stomach), peptic ulcer, upper abdominal pain, duodenal ulcer, mouth ulcer
    • Feeling unwell
    • Rash, itching, redness of skin, red itchy welts
    • Increased sweating
    • Signs of angioedema such a rapid swelling on the face
    • Oedema (swelling due to water retention)
    • Stuffy nose due to rhinitis
    • Hair loss
    • Pain in the joints

    Rare

    • Sore throat
    • Anaemia, weakness
    • Signs of hypersensitivity reactions such as anaphylactoid reaction (anaphylaxis) associated with facial swelling, flushing, troubled breathing, and/or light-headedness
    • Confusion, nervousness, agitation, sleepiness, paraesthesia (tingling sensations), tremors, migraine
    • Abnormal sensation of taste
    • Visual disturbances
    • High blood pressure
    • Hot flushing
    • Abnormal bleeding/bruising, prolonged bleeding time
    • Difficulty in breathing, cough, bronchospasm (constriction of lung muscles)
    • Perforated ulcers, blood in vomit, gastrointestinal bleeding, black tarry stools
    • Inflammation in the mouth, aphthous stomatitis (ulcers in mouth), oesophagitis (inflammation of the gullet), gastro-oesophageal reflux
    • Difficulty in swallowing, inflammation of the tongue
    • Bone pain, muscle cramp, muscle pain
    • Urinary problems such as nocturnia (increased urination in the night)

    Stop taking DOLOSIG LP TABLET and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:   

    • Shortness of breath, chest pain, and/or ankle swelling
    • Severe/continuous stomach pain/black stools
    • Signs of liver problems such as yellowing of skin and eyes (jaundice)
    • Signs of allergic reaction such as skin problems (ulcers/blistering), swelling of face, lips, tongue/throat, and/or difficulty in breathing
    • Signs of Stevens-Johnson syndrome (serious disorder of skin) such as fever, blistering eruption, and/or inflammation especially on hands and feet
    • Serious infections of skin such as chickenpox
    • Signs of allergic reaction such as itchy, lumpy/nettle rash, swelling of hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, and/or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing/breathing

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Diarrhea

    Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom worsens.

    Dizziness Or Drowsiness

    Try to rest and get enough sleep. Try to avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you feel dizzy. Limit consumption of alcohol, as it can aggravate dizziness. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom worsens.

    Headache

    If DOLOSIG LP TABLET causes headache, then take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of taking DOLOSIG LP TABLET. If it lasts more than a week or becomes severe, then consult and inform your doctor.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Take DOLOSIG LP TABLET with/just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich/spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals, and drink slowly in between meals. Consult your doctor if the condition worsens.

    Warning & Precautions

    Pregnancy

    Contraindicated

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women especially in first 6 months and last 3 months of pregnancy. It is also not recommended for use in women planning for pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Breastfeeding

    Monitoring required

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Use with Caution

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machines. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Alcohol

    Consult your doctor

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking DOLOSIG LP TABLET since it may increase risk of side effects.

    Kidney

    Contraindicated

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with kidney problems such as severe kidney impairment. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Liver

    Contraindicated

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver problems such as severe liver impairment. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Allergy

    Contraindicated

    Do not take DOLOSIG LP TABLET if you are allergic to Lornoxicam, Paracetamol, other NSAIDs including acetylsalicylic acid, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.  

    Lungs

    Use with Caution

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET should be used with caution in patients with history of asthma. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Heart Disease

    Contraindicated

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with heart problems such as severe heart failure. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Use In Pediatrics

    Contraindicated

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). Consult your doctor before administering the medicine.

    Use In Geriatrics

    Use with Caution

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 60 years and above). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Others

    DOLOSIG LP TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • Suffer from thrombocytopenia (low blood platelet count that causes increased risk of bleeding/unusual bruising)
    • Suffer from gastrointestinal bleeding, rupture and bleeding of a blood vessel in the brain, and/or other bleeding disorders
    • Suffer from active peptic ulcer, and/or have a history of recurrent peptic ulcer

    Before taking DOLOSIG LP TABLET, inform your doctor if you:    

    • Have a history of high blood pressure/heart failure
    • Suffer from ulcerative colitis/Crohn’s disease (inflammatory bowel disease)
    • Have a history of bleeding tendency
    • Have SLE (lupus erythematosus which is a rare immunological disease)
    • Suffer from blood coagulation disorder
    • Have a history of stroke
    • Are at a risk of developing high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol
    • Are a smoker

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

    Before taking DOLOSIG LP TABLET, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • Other NSAIDs (medicines used to manage inflammation) such as COX-2 inhibitors (Ex celecoxib), acetylsalicylic acid/aspirin, ibuprofen
    • Cimetidine (medicine used in the management of heartburn and peptic ulcers)
    • Anticoagulants (medicines used to manage the formation of blood clots) Ex. heparin, phenprocoumon, warfarin
    • Corticosteroids (medicines used to manage pain and inflammation) Ex. dexamethasone
    • Methotrexate (medicine used to manage cancer and immunological diseases)
    • Lithium (medicine used to manage depression or mood disorders)
    • Immunosuppresive agents (medicines used to suppress the immune responses of the body) ciclosporine, tacrolimus
    • Medicines used to manage heart problems Ex. digoxin, ACE-inhibitors (captopril), beta-adrenergic blockers (atenolol)
    • Diuretics (medicines used to lower blood pressure) Ex. furosemide
    • Quinolone antibiotics (medicines used to manage bacterial infections)  Ex. ciprofloxacin
    • Anti-platelet agents (medicines used to manage heart attacks and strokes) Ex. clopidogrel, ticagrelor
    • Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (medicines used to manage depression) Ex. citalopram
    • Sulphonylureas (medicines used to manage diabetes) Ex. glibenclamide
    • Inducers and inhibitors of CYP2C9-isoenzymes Ex. rifampicin, fluconazole
    • Angiotensin II receptor blocker (medicines used to manage high blood pressure, diabetes induced kidney damage, and congestive heart failure) Ex. telmisartan
    • Pemetrexed (medicine used to manage certain forms of lung cancer)
    • Flucloxacillin (medicine used to manage certain bacterial infections)
    • Metoclopramide, domperidone (medicines used to manage nausea and vomiting)
    • Colestyramine (medicines used to manage raised cholesterol levels in blood)

    B. Drug-Food Interactions:

    Avoid taking DOLOSIG LP TABLET along with food since it may reduce effectiveness of the medicine.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of DOLOSIG LP TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are nausea, vomiting, dizziness, disturbed vision, and/or serious liver damage.
