What DAZIT M is used for?

It is used,

  • to relieve the symptoms associated with urticaria (a skin condition caused by an allergy)
  • for the long-term management of asthma
  • to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis (outdoor allergies that happen part of the year) and perennial allergic rhinitis (indoor allergies that happen all year)

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to Desloratadine and Montelukast or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have medical or familial history of seizures
  • have poor kidney function
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to have baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age
  • Rarely some people experience drowsiness, which may affect their ability to drive or use machines
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines including medicines obtained without prescription, vitamin supplements or herbal products
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food
  • Do not crush or chew the tablet

If you take more DAZIT M

  • Take DAZIT M only as it is prescribed for you. If you take more DAZIT M than you were told to, contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take DAZIT M

  • If you forget to take your dose on time, take it as soon as possible, then go back to your regular dosing schedule
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking DAZIT M

  • Before stop taking this medicine consult your doctor

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Desloratadine

  • severe allergic reactions (difficulty in breathing, wheezing, itching, hives and swelling)

Desloratadine

  • fatigue
  • dry mouth and headache

Montelukast

  • stomach pain or upset or heartburn
  • tiredness, fever, cough, stuffy nose
  • upper respiratory infection
  • dizziness, headache
  • increased bleeding tendency
  • allergic reactions including swelling of the face, lips, tongue and/or throat (which may cause trouble breathing or swallowing), hives and itching
  • drowsiness, seizures (convulsions or fits)
  • palpitations
  • nose bleed
  • inflammation of the pancreas
  • hepatitis
  • bruising
  • joint pain, muscle aches and muscle cramps
  • behavior and mood-related changes

Montelukast

  • a feeling of pins and needles or numbness of arms or legs
  • a flu-like illness
  • rash
  • severe inflammation (pain and swelling) of the sinuses (sinusitis)
