What is Cyclosporine used for?
Cyclosporine capsule, eye drops, singules, solution is used to prevent the rejection of a transplanted organ.
Cyclosporine may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.
How does Cyclosporine work?
Cyclosporine belongs to the class of drugs called immunosuppressant drugs. It helps in preventing the white blood cells (WBCs) from attacking the transplanted organ by weakening the immune system. Thus, prevents the rejection of the transplanted organ.
How to use Cyclosporine?
The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Use Cyclosporine capsule, eye drops, singules, solution as prescribed by your doctor.
- Swallow the capsule Do not crush or tear open the capsule.
- Instil one or two eye drops/singules/solution into the conjunctival sac of the eye and close your eyes for at least 10 minutes. Do not allow the container tip to touch the eye or surrounding tissue.
If you miss a dose of Cyclosporine, please take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
