What BENFOCARE is used for?

BENFOCARE is useful as a co-prescription in the management of diabetic neuropathy.

It contains the below mentioned components, which have the following uses:

Alpha Lipoic Acid:

  • Provides an antioxidant effect to protect peripheral nerves, and improves the function and conduction of neurons in diabetes

Benfotiamine:

  • Helps to reduce oxidative stress on neurons and thus prevents death of neurons

Methylcobalamin, Folic Acid:

  • Both together, help to lower elevated homocysteine levels, thus preventing neuronal cell death, and increase substances needed to metabolize neurotransmitters (chemical substances that carry signals between neurons)

Inositol:

  • Balances certain chemicals in the body, and makes insulin work better, thereby helping in nerve problems caused by diabetes

Chromium, Selenium:

  • Both together, have antioxidant effects, and regulate glucose and insulin, aiding in managing diabetic neuronal complications
