What are uses of AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION?
AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION is used in adults and children for treatment of various bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections which includes pneumonia, Acute exacerbation of chronic Bronchitis, urinary tract infections (cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis), bone and joint infections (osteomyelitis), middle ear infections (otitis media), Tonsillitis, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections such as cellulitis, boils, wound infections, intra-abdominal sepsis, dental infections, infections of genital organs in females. AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION is also used as prophylaxis against various bacterial infection associated with major surgeries of heart, joints, kidney, head and neck, stomach, biliary tract, intestine and pelvic region.
What are side effects of AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION?
The most common side effects after receiving AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION are vomiting, diarrhoea, thrush (fungal infection), etc. Consult your doctor immediately in case any of side effects worsens.
How AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION works?
AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION help in treating bacterial infection where Amoxicillin works by inhibiting penicillin binding proteins (which are involved in the synthesis of bacterial cell wall) leading to activation of autolytic enzymes in the bacterial cell wall. Therefore, leading to lysis of the cell wall and death of bacterial cell and Clavulanic acid inhibits the activity of bacterial enzymes known as beta lactamases and hence enhancing the antibacterial activity of amoxicillin.
Is AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION safe for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women?
No, AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless clearly necessary and AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION should be used with caution in breast feeding women as it may pass through breastmilk. Consult your doctor before receiving AUGPEN 150MG INJECTION.
