What ALLERMIN 4MG is used for?

 It can be used to relieve the symptoms of allergic reactions including:

  • hay fever, raised, red itchy skin (symptoms of urticaria, which is often known as hives or nettle rash)
  • allergic reactions to foods or medicines, insect bites, runny nose and swelling of the face or throat due to fluid buildup and itching caused by chickenpox

Talk to your Doctor if you:

  • are allergic to ALLERMIN 4MG or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have epilepsy
  • have liver or heart problems, severe high blood pressure
  • have asthma or bronchitis or other lung problems
  • have raised pressure in your eye (glaucoma)
  • are a man with prostate problems
  • have an intolerance to some sugars
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • ALLERMIN 4MG is not recommended to children under 6 years. Consult your doctor for advice
  • This medicine may cause drowsiness dizziness or blurred vision. You should not drive or operate machinery until you are sure that you are not affected

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • monoamine oxidase inhibitors (used for depression)
  • other antihistamines
  • sleeping medicines (used for anxiety, antidepressants)
  • phenytoin (used for epilepsy)
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • swallow the medicine with a drink of water

If you take more ALLERMIN 4MG

  • If you take too many medicines talk to a doctor immediately

If you forget to take ALLERMIN 4MG

  • If you forget to take your ALLERMIN 4MG at the right time. Take it when you remember and carry on as before unless it is time for the next dose. Do not double up the dose to make up for a forgotten medicine

If you stop taking ALLERMIN 4MG

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very Rare
  • allergic reaction: difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat,skin peeling, itchy red skin rash, sensitivity to light
  • lack of concentration, dizziness, headache, blurred vision
  • feeling sick, being sick, dry mouth, heartburn, diarrhoea, stomach pain
  • loss of appetite, difficulty in passing urine, ringing in the ears
  • changes in heart rate, palpitations, low blood pressure (you may feel faint), tightness of the chest
  • thickened bronchial secretions (cough or phlegm)
  • liver problems including hepatitis and jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)
  • blood problems such as anemia
  • muscle weakness, twitching, lack of co-ordination
  • depression, irritability, nightmares
  • confusion in the elderly
  • hyperactivity in children

  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Store at a room temperature of  15-25°C
