ABVIDA M 50/500MG is used to treat type 2 diabetes (also known as non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) in adult patients, whose diabetes cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone and/or with other medicines used to treat diabetes (insulin or sulphonylureas such as glimepiride, glipizide).
Can ABVIDA M 50/500MG be used in elderly patients?
ABVIDA M 50/500MG should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65 years of age, especially in patients with impaired kidney function. Your doctor will adjust the dose depending upon kidney function and your kidney function will be monitored regularly. Consult with your doctor before taking ABVIDA M 50/500MG.
Is ABVIDA M 50/500MG safe to use in patients with heart problems?
ABVIDA M 50/500MG is not recommended in patients who recently had heart attack or heart failure or any signs of heart problems such as serious problems with blood circulation or difficulty in breathing. Consult your doctor before taking ABVIDA M 50/500MG.
What are the most common side effects of taking ABVIDA M 50/500MG?
The most common side effects of taking ABVIDA M 50/500MG are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, dizziness, loss of appetite, metallic taste, uncontrolled trembling, low blood sugar and diarrhoea. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
Can I consume alcohol while taking ABVIDA M 50/500MG?
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with ABVIDA M 50/500MG since it may increase the risk of lactic acidosis. Consult your doctor before taking ABVIDA M 50/500MG if you are alcoholic or with history of alcoholism.
