Opipramol is used to treat generalised anxiety disorder and somatic disturbances.
Opipramol: Antidepressants
Opipramol works by binding to certain receptors (sigma receptor) in the brain and spinal cord, as a result it works in the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor system and influences the neurotransmitters glutamate and dopamine (messenger substances in the brain) and produces a calming and anxiety-relieving effect followed by enhancement of mood.
