Introduction About ZELID SUSPENSION

ZELID SUSPENSION contains Nimesulide which belongs to a group of medicine called Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is used to manage acute pain, painful osteoarthritis and primary dysmenorrhea.

Your doctor might advise regular liver function tests during management with ZELID SUSPENSION. Consult your doctor for advice.

Before taking ZELID SUSPENSION tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Consult your doctor for advice.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking ZELID SUSPENSION. Consult your doctor for advice.

ZELID SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 12 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking.

ZELID SUSPENSION should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or above). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

The most common side effects of ZELID SUSPENSION are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen or persists for a longer duration.

It is used to manage:

• acute pain
• painful osteoarthritis
• primary dysmenorrhea

ZELID SUSPENSION works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

How to use ZELID SUSPENSION

Take ZELID SUSPENSION as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects

Bloating

Eat smaller and frequent meals. Eat and drink slowly, and exercise regularly. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Constipation

Eat fiber rich foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly.

Diarrhea

Drink lot of fluid such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicines without talking to a doctor.

Dizziness Or Drowsiness

Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume too much of alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Nausea And Vomiting

Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.

Driving and Using Machines

Use with Caution

Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizziness or vertigo, somnolence after taking ZELID SUSPENSION.

Alcohol

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during management with ZELID SUSPENSION. Consult your doctor for advice.

Kidney

Contraindicated

ZELID SUSPENSION is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment. Consult your doctor before taking.

Liver

Contraindicated

ZELID SUSPENSION is not recommended in patients with liver impairment. Consult your doctor before taking.

Allergy

Contraindicated

Do not take ZELID SUSPENSION if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Nimesulide or any other ingredients of this medicine.

Heart Disease

Contraindicated

ZELID SUSPENSION is not recommended in patients with severe heart failure. Consult your doctor before taking.

Interactions

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking ZELID SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

• warfarin (used to manage blood clot)
• acetylsalicylic acid
• furosemide
• lithium (used for mental problem)
• glibenclamide, tolbutamide (used to manage diabetes)
• theophylline (used for breathing problems)
• digoxin (used to manage heart problems)
• cimetidine, aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide (used to manage stomach ulcers)
• methotrexate (used to manage cancer)
• valproic acid (manages epilepsy)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of ZELID SUSPENSION, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose are drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, hypertension.
