    Introduction About TROPEZ OD

    TROPEZ OD contains Trospium which belongs to the group of medicines called Antimuscarinics. TROPEZ OD is used to relax muscles of urinary bladder which helps in managing symptoms associated with involuntary loss of urine (wetting) and/or increased frequency/urgency to urinate in patients affected with overactive urinary bladder (syndrome that cause sudden/unstoppable need to urinate).

    TROPEZ OD is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Trospium. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from urinary retention due to blockage of urinary tract. The medicine is also not indicated for use in patients suffering from narrow-angle glaucoma (eye disorder that cause increased intraocular pressure in the eye), myasthenia gravis (weak muscle), severe digestive tract conditions (such as toxic megacolon), fast/abnormal heart beats, severe liver disease, and/or kidney disorders.

    Before taking TROPEZ OD, inform your doctor if you suffer from any type of stomach/intestine obstruction, impaired urine flow, nerve damage, overactive thyroid, and/or heart problems (such as coronary artery disease/congestive heart failure).

    TROPEZ OD should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary.

    The medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 75-years and above) after consulting the doctor.

    The most common side effects of taking TROPEZ OD are dry mouth, constipation, nausea, abdominal pain, indigestion, dry eyes, and/or dry nose. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

    How TROPEZ OD Works

    TROPEZ OD works by relaxing muscles of the urinary bladder which helps in managing frequent, urgent, and/or uncontrolled urge/need to urinate in patients with overactive urinary bladder.

    How to use TROPEZ OD

    Take TROPEZ OD as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of TROPEZ OD

    Common

    • dry mouth, constipation, nausea, stomach pain, indigestion
    • dry eyes and nose

    Uncommon

    • flatulence

    Rare

    • urinary retention, difficulty emptying the bladder
    • fast heart rate, racing/pounding heartbeat
    • difficulty seeing objects at a closer view
    • rash
    • feeling generally weak

    Stop taking TROPEZ OD and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • swelling of face, tongue, throat, and/or windpipe that cause breathing in breathing
    • sudden allergic reaction with breathlessness, rash, wheezing, and/or drop in blood pressure

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Dry mouth:

    Try to drink plenty of cold water and sip on cold unsweetened drinks and use lip balm if your lips are dry. Brush your teeth twice a day and use mouthwash. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

    Constipation:

    Try to eat high-fiber foods such as vegetables, cereals, fresh fruit, and drink plenty of water. Involve in regular exercise (going for a daily walk or run) and if this does not help, consult and inform your doctor for receiving alternate managements for constipation.

    Nausea:

    Take TROPEZ OD with/just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich/spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals, and drink slowly in between meals. Consult your doctor if the condition worsens.

    Indigestion:

    Try to have smaller and more frequent meals and drink slowly. Reduce consumption of coffee, cola, tea, or alcohol and lose weight if you are obese.  Try to avoid smoking and don’t have rich, fatty or spicy foods. Consult your doctor and inform if the symptom does not improve.

    Pregnancy

    TROPEZ OD should be used with caution in pregnant women only if it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Breastfeeding

    TROPEZ OD should be used with caution in breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or operate any machines if you experience impaired vision after taking TROPEZ OD.

    Kidney

    TROPEZ OD is not recommended for use in patients with kidney disorders. Consult your doctor before taking TROPEZ OD.

    Liver

    TROPEZ OD is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking TROPEZ OD.

    Allergy

    Do not take TROPEZ OD if you are allergic to Trospium, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Heart Disease

    TROPEZ OD is not recommended for use in patients with heart problems such as abnormal/faster heart beats. It should be used with caution in patients with other heart problems such as coronary artery disease/congestive heart failure. Consult your doctor before taking TROPEZ OD.

    Others

    TROPEZ OD is not recommended for use if you:

    • suffer from urinary retention due to blockage of urinary tract
    • have narrow-angle glaucoma (eye disorder that cause increased intraocular pressure in the eye)
    • suffer from myasthenia gravis (weak muscle)
    • suffer from severe digestive tract conditions (such as toxic megacolon)

    Before taking TROPEZ OD, inform your doctor if you:

    • have any type of stomach/intestine obstruction
    • have an impaired urine flow
    • suffer from neuropathy (nerve damage)
    • suffer from hiatus hernia related to reflux oesophagitis (heartburn which worsens on bending/lying down)
    • suffer from overactive thyroid

    Use in Pediatrics:

    TROPEZ OD is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Use in Geriatrics:

    TROPEZ OD should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 75 years). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking TROPEZ OD, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • antidepressants (medicines used to manage depression) Ex. amitryptiline, imipramine
    • medicines used to manage asthma (Ex. salbutamol, tolbutamide)
    • amantadine (used to manage Parkinson’s disease)
    • metoclopramide (used for nausea and vomiting)
    • medicines used to decrease blood fat levels (Ex. colestipol, colestyramine)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of TROPEZ OD, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.
