Introduction About PROLYTE REHYDRATE ORANGE FLAVOUR LIQUID
Prolyte Orange Flavour Liquid belongs to oral rehydration salts (ORS) which is used to replenish water and essential electrolytes. It is also used to decrease stool output and vomiting. It contains electrolytes and vitamin C as active ingredients which are essential to maintain normal fluid balance in the body and to maintain immune function.
Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant by limiting the damaging effects of free radicals, and also plays an important role in immune function. Dextrose or glucose facilitates the absorption of sodium and water in the small intestine.
Sodium chloride and potassium chloride are needed as replacement of these essential ions during diarrhoea and vomiting. Sodium citrate corrects the excess acid levels that occurs because of diarrhoea.
