Introduction About OLYTE ORANGE LIQUID
Olyte Orange Liquid is an oral rehydration salt (ORS) that is used to replenish water and electrolytes. It is also used to decrease stool output and vomiting. It contains electrolytes like sodium, potassium, chloride, citrate and dextrose which are required to keep the body's fluid balance normal.
It hydrates the body and restores lost electrolytes during situations involving excessive fluid loss, such as diarrhoea or vomiting. ORS aids in the management of dehydration and lowers the requirement for hospitalisation.
The major component of ORS is dextrose or glucose. It aids in the absorption of sodium and water in the small intestine. Sodium and potassium are required to replace these critical ions during diarrhoea and vomiting. Citrate reduces the high acid levels caused by diarrhoea.
Olyte Orange Liquid is a ready-to-drink product that promotes patient compliance while also providing convenience. In patients with impaired renal function, severe persistent diarrhoea, or other important fluid losses, it should be administered with caution.
