Introduction About LAVMOX LB 625 TABLET

LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet is used in the management of various bacterial infections. It is prescribed predominantly to manage ear infections, sinus infections, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, certain dental infections, bone and joint infections and certain other infections caused by bacteria.

LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic combining Amoxicillin, Clavulanic acid and Lactic acid Bacillus as active ingredients. Amoxicillin weakens bacterial cell walls, leading to their destruction, and Clavulanic acid protects amoxicillin from degradation by enzymes produced by bacteria, allowing it to effectively combat a broader range of bacterial infections. This combination enhances the efficacy of amoxicillin, making it effective against a wider spectrum of bacteria. Lactic acid bacillus helps to replenish and maintain the beneficial bacteria in the gut, reducing the risk of antibiotic induced diarrhea or other gut problems.

Prior to the therapy, your doctor may suggest blood tests and urine tests to analyse the type of bacteria that has caused the infection and the number of bacteria that is present in the body for better therapy optimisation.

Take LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet with meals or as advised by your physician. Take LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet exactly for the duration recommended by your doctor. Stopping the therapy during the midway may cause the bacteria to become more resistant and makes it difficult to control the infection. Do not take LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet for more than 2 weeks without consulting your doctor.

LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet is suitable for use in adults and in children (weighing 40 kgs or more). Before taking LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must inform your doctor before LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet is prescribed to you, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, scheduled for any blood tests, liver function test or urine tests.

Do not take LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. The most common side effects of taking LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet are diarrhoea, thrush, nausea, vomiting, skin rash, indigestion, dizziness and headache. Consult your doctor if they trouble you.

Uses Of LAVMOX LB 625 TABLET

Management of bacterial infections such as:

    • Ear infections
    • Sinus infections
    • Respiratory tract infections
    • Urinary tract infections
    • Skin and soft tissue infections
    • Dental infections
    • Bone and joint infections

How LAVMOX LB 625 TABLET Works

LAVMOX LB 625 Tablet is a combination three medicines, namely Amoxicillin, Clavulanic acid and Lactic acid Bacillus. Amoxicillin is a penicillin type antibiotic. It works by blocking the release of certain essential proteins (peptidoglycans) within the bacteria that is responsible for bacterial cell wall synthesis. This weakens the bacterial cell wall, leading to its rupture, followed by destruction of bacteria.

Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Many bacteria produce enzymes called β-lactamases that can destroy penicillin-type antibiotics like amoxicillin, rendering them ineffective. Clavulanic acid inhibits these β-lactamase enzymes, protecting amoxicillin from degradation. This allows amoxicillin to exert its antibacterial effects effectively against a broader spectrum of bacteria, including those that produce β-lactamases.

By combining amoxicillin with clavulanic acid, the efficacy of amoxicillin is enhanced, making the combination antibiotic effective against a wider range of bacterial infections.

Lactic acid Bacillus present in the medicine helps in replenishing and maintaining beneficial bacteria in the gut, reducing the risk of antibiotic associated diarrhea and other gut problems.

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Diarrhea

Managing diarrhea caused by antibiotic usage involves several steps. Firstly, it is important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, preferably water or oral rehydration solutions to replace lost electrolytes. Avoiding dairy, fatty foods, caffeine, and high-fiber foods can help alleviate symptoms. Probiotics, either in supplement form or through yogurt containing live cultures, may restore healthy gut bacteria disrupted by antibiotics. If diarrhea persists or worsens, or if it's accompanied by severe symptoms like fever or dehydration, it's essential to consult a doctor for further evaluation and management adjustments.

    Dizziness Or Drowsiness

Sit or lie down to prevent falls if you feel dizzy. Deep breathing exercises and focusing on a fixed point can help alleviate symptoms. Avoid sudden movements and stay hydrated by drinking water regularly. If dizziness persists or is accompanied by other concerning symptoms such as chest pain or difficulty speaking, it's crucial to seek medical attention promptly to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate management.
