Introduction About DULATINE OINTMENT
Dulatine Ointment is a microbicidal ointment used to manage infection in minor wounds, cuts, scrapes, burns and abrasions. It contains povidone-iodine as an active ingredient to decrease the risk of infection by inhibiting the growth and spread of pathogens (such as bacteria, fungi, protozoa, yeasts and viruses) at the site of application.
Povidone-iodine works by penetrating the cell wall of microorganisms by disrupting their proteins and nucleic acid structure and synthesis. Thus, it deactivates the function of microorganisms, manages infection and helps for faster healing.
Always use Dulatine Ointment as advised by the doctor. It is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before application. Apply a small amount of ointment over the affected area as directed by the doctor. It may be covered with a sterile bandage. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membrane. Do not use Dulatine ointment if you are allergic to its active component.
