What ZIPOD 30MG is used for?

It is used to treat the following types of infection such as:

  • tonsillitis
  • sinusitis
  • acute chest infection in patients with chronic bronchitis
  • pneumonia

Talk to your doctor if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have ever had inflammation of your bowel like colitis or any other severe disease affecting your gut
  • are having any sort of treatment (like dialysis) for kidney failure
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • Consult your doctor for advice for the use of this medicine in children
  • Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine since it may cause dizziness

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • antacids (used to treat indigestion)
  • drugs used to treat infection
  • anti-ulcer agents (used to treat ulcer)
  • diuretics (used to increase urine flow)
  • Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Swallow the medicines whole with a drink of water
  • It should be taken with food because food helps to absorb the medicine

If you take more ZIPOD 30MG

  • If you accidentally take more medicines tell your doctor or go to nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take ZIPOD 30MG

  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking ZIPOD 30MG

  • Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • severe allergic reaction: raised and itchy rash, swelling, sometimes of the face or mouth causing difficulty in breathing
  • skin rash, which may blister, peeling skin and looks like small targets (central dark spot surrounded by a paler area, with a dark ring around the edge)
  • severe diarrhoea or blood in your diarrhoea
  • bloating
  • nausea, vomiting
  • stomach pain
  • flatulence
  • loss of appetite
  • headache
  • pins and needles
  • dizziness
  • ringing in the ears
  • weakness
  • changes in blood tests that check how your liver is working
  • anaemia
  • drop in the numbers of blood cells (symptoms can include tiredness, new infections and easy bruising or bleeding)
  • increase in some types of white blood cells
  • increase in the numbers of small cells that are needed for clotting of the blood
  • bronchospasms, purpura and edema of the face and extremities
  • worsening in the kidney function
  • liver damage
  • thrush may occur
  • a type of anaemia that can be severe and is caused by red blood cells breaking up
