Zifol XT Tablet is a haematinic that is used for the prevention and management of iron deficiency anaemia. It contains ferrous ascorbate and folic acid as active ingredients.
Ferrous ascorbate contains iron and ascorbic acid. Iron helps in the formation of haemoglobin and ascorbic acid helps to improve absorption of iron. Folic acid is involved in the metabolism of amino acids and normal growth and reproduction of cells, nucleoprotein synthesis and maintenance of the process of formation of Red Blood Cells (Erythropoiesis).
Take Zifol XT Tablet as advised by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water and do not crush or chew the tablet. Take one Zifol XT Tablet daily or as directed by the doctor. Do not take it if you are diagnosed with porphyria cutanea tarda (blood disorder), haemochromatosis (build-up of iron in the body) and hemosiderosis (accumulation of iron in tissues) and haemolytic anaemia (destruction of red blood cells).
