What is ZENERIL 10MG used for?
ZENERIL 10MG is used to manage schizophrenia in patients who fail to respond adequately to treatment with other antipsychotic drugs. Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe mental disorder that cause affected individuals to interpret reality in an abnormal way and have trouble in thinking, acting, expressing and perceiving reality.
What happens if you take more ZENERIL 10MG than your required dose?
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of ZENERIL 10MG, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Overdosage symptoms of ZENERIL 10MG are irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, shock, slow heartrate, pounding heartrate, heart block, myocardial depression, sedation, extrapyramidal effects, coma, and dilation of pupil of the eyes.
What common side effects are seen with the use of ZENERIL 10MG?
The most common side effects associated with the use of ZENERIL 10MG are drowsiness, dizziness, headache, blurred vision, dry mouth, constipation, and tremor. Consult your doctor if any of the symptom worsens.
Who should avoid taking ZENERIL 10MG?
ZENERIL 10MG is not recommended for use in patients with cardiac disorders (such as cardiac failure, angina, slow heart rate, 2nd or 3rd degree heart block), comatose or severe drug-induced depressed states (such as drowsiness, slow breathing, and weak pulse), uncorrected hypokalaemia (low potassium level in blood), severe photosensitivity (extreme sensitivity to ultraviolet rays), and/or serious haematological conditions (such as bone marrow suppression). This medicine is also not recommended for use in children (less than 2 years of age). Consult your doctor before taking ZENERIL 10MG.
Is ZENERIL 10MG safe to use in elderly patients?
ZENERIL 10MG is not recommended for use in elderly patients with dementia related psychosis. ZENERIL 10MG should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above) after consulting the doctor.
How ZENERIL 10MG works?
ZENERIL 10MG works by inhibiting the release of dopamine (chemical messenger that affects thoughts and mood in the brain) which results in calmness and suppression of aggressive behaviour in affected individuals that is seen associated with schizophrenia condition.
Is ZENERIL 10MG safe to use in children?
ZENERIL 10MG is not recommended for use in children (below 2 years of age). It should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 2 to 18 years) after consulting the doctor.
Does ZENERIL 10MG cause drowsiness?
Yes, ZENERIL 10MG causes drowsiness in some individuals and it can be managed by lying down until the drowsiness passes away. Try to get a lot of rest and do not bend suddenly. Walk slowly and carefully and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes. Consult your doctor if the symptom persists for long or gets worsened.
