VORMIND 20 TABLET contains Vortioxetine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidepressants. It is used to treat depression (major depressive episodes) in adults. Depression is a mood disorder characterized by persistent feeling of sadness, loss of interest, feeling guilty or worthless, attention impairment, lack of energy, suicidal thoughts and slow or abnormal physical movements.
Before taking VORMIND 20 TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you currently have or have a previous history of fits (epilepsy), glaucoma, suicidal thoughts, mania or bleeding problems as a precaution.
VORMIND 20 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless considered necessary by the physician. It is also not suitable for use in children aged below 18 years.
The most common side effects of taking VORMIND 20 TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, dizziness, itching of the whole body, abnormal dreams (nightmares) and increased sweating. These side effects are usually temporary and will resolve on its own within 2 weeks of therapy. However, consult your doctor if they worsen.
You must also inform your doctor if you experience worsening of depression or suicidal thoughts or behaviour after taking VORMIND 20 TABLET.
VORMIND 20 TABLET is an antidepressant medication. It acts by increasing the levels of certain chemical messengers (such as serotonin) in the brain that can stabilize mood and mental health. As a result, it improves your mood and energy and reduce the signs of depression.
Take VORMIND 20 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not cursh or chew the medicine. It can be taken with or without food.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Do not stop taking VORMIND 20 TABLET without consulting your doctor as it may make your symptoms re-appear once again.

Nausea or vomiting:
Take this medicine with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Contact your doctor if nausea worsens.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fibre rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables and cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise regularly. Contact your doctor if constipation persists.
Diarrhoea:
Drink fluids, such as water or fruit juice in enough quantity to keep yourself hydrated. Don’t take any medicine on your own for treating diarrhoea without talking to your doctor. Contact your doctor if diarrhoea worsen.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate machinery if you feel dizzy. Avoid consumption of alcohol as it could aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if dizziness worsens.
VORMIND 20 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
VORMIND 20 TABLET may pass through breast milk and so it is generally not recommended for use in breast feeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
VORMIND 20 TABLET does not impair your ability to drive or handle heavy tools. However, it may cause dizziness in some individuals. Therefore, do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience dizziness after taking VORMIND 20 TABLET as a precaution.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking VORMIND 20 TABLET as it may increase the risk of side effects.
VORMIND 20 TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney diseases. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
