VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET contains Metadoxine which belongs to a group of medicines called Alcohol Deterrents. VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET is used in the treatment of alcohol intoxication which occurs as a disturbance in behaviour/mental function during or after alcohol consumption in affected individuals.
VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET is also used to treat chronic alcoholism which occurs due to habitual and prolonged use of alcoholic beverages in affected individuals.
VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Methadoxine.
Before taking VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET, inform your doctor if suffer from Parkinson's disease (brain disorder that causes unintended/uncontrollable movements), and/or have kidney problems, or liver problems (such as alcoholic liver damage).
VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless it is clearly necessary. It is also not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it reduces the synthesis of prolactin (hormone responsible for producing milk during pregnancy and after birth).
The medicine is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years/above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET are diarrhea, skin rash, numbness, and/or drowsiness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET works by increasing alcohol elimination from blood and tissues which results in reduced absorption of alcohol by liver thus aiding in alcohol intoxication and preventing liver damage in affected individuals.
Take VIBOLIV 500MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Diarrhea:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhea. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom worsens.
