VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET contains Venlafaxine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidepressants. It is used in adults to treat depression, anxiety disorders and panic attacks (fear).
Depression is a mental health disorder characterized by persistant depressed mood, lack of interest, feeling of guilt, sleep disturbances or sucidial thoughts for a prolonged period (more than 2 weeks) that causes significant impairment in performing day-to-day activities.
Before taking VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have diabetes or any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have or have a family history of bipolar disorder, mania or epilepsy. Do not take VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor.
The most common side effects of taking VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET are headache, dizziness, drowsiness, lack of sleep, dry mouth and sexual problems. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsen.

VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET is a potent antidepressant drug. It contains a medicine called venlafaxine which is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SSNRI). It acts by increasing the levels of certain chemicals (serotonin and norepinephrine) within the brain that elevates your mood and stabilizes mental health. As a result, it makes you feel active and energetic and reduces unnecessary fear and anxiety.
Take VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET with food or as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not cursh or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of theray for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Do not stop taking VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET abruptly as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as aggressiveness, tiredness, dizziness, sleeplessness, nightmares, dry mouth, nervousness, agitation, confusion or ringing in the ears.
Stop taking VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET should be used in pregnant women only if considered necessary by the physician. Your doctor will evaluate the risks and benefits of the therapy and prescribes you with this medicine only if the benefits overweigh the risk to the growing baby. VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET may pass through the breast milk. Therefore, it should be used in breastfeeding women only if considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you feel dizzy or sleepy after taking VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET.
VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

What to do if I forget to take a dose of VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET?

Do not take a double dose of VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET to compensate a missed dose, as it could lead to toxicity.
Will taking a higher dose of VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET than the prescribed one be beneficial?
No, taking a higher dose of VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET will not be effective rather it can lead to toxicity. Always take the dose prescribed by your doctor. You may feel better after 2 weeks of therapy with VENTIN 37.5MG TABLET, but it might take several weeks for you to experience complete benefits. Also, sudden discontinuation of therapy may cause withdrawal symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, irritability, lack of sleep, diarrhea, anxiety, abnormal dreams, fatigue, and increased sweating.
