What TRILOSACAR is used for?

  • It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and a type of chest pain called angina
  • It lowers the chance of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and a heart problem called left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH)

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to amlodipine, losartan potassium and hydrochlorothiazide or to any other ingredients in this medicine
  • have heart disease
  • have liver problems and kidney problems
  • are not passing urine
  • have been vomiting, having diarrhea, sweating a lot or not drinking enough fluids since these could cause you to have low blood pressure
  • have systemic lupus erythematosus
  • have diabetes, asthma or gout
  • If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant your doctor will decide if TRILOSACAR should be given to you
  • Do not breast-feed while taking TRILOSACAR
  • Consult your doctor for advice
  • TRILOSACAR has not been studied in children less than 18 years old

Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines such as:

  • potassium supplements
  • salt substitutes containing potassium
  • diuretics
  • lithium (a medicine used to treat a certain kind of depression)
  • medicines used to treat pain and arthritis, called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including COX-2 inhibitors
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Take TRILOSACAR once a day, with or without food
  • Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water
  • Do not chew or break the tablet

If you take more TRILOSACAR

  • Do not take more than one dose of TRILOSACAR at a time, if you take more of this medicine consult your doctor immediately

If you forget to take TRILOSACAR

  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take TRILOSACAR if it has been more than 12 hours since you missed your last dose. Wait and take the next dose at your regular time

If you stop taking TRILOSACAR

  • Your doctor will advise you how long to take this medicine. Your condition may return if you stop taking this medicine before you are advised

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • allergic reaction marked by swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue
  • low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • a new or worsening condition called systemic lupus erythematosus
  • worsening of kidney functions marked by swelling in your feet, ankles or hands or unexplained weight gain
  • worsening of liver functions marked by nausea, pain in the right upper stomach area (abdomen), yellow eyes or skin (which can be itchy)
  • swelling of your legs or ankles
  • tiredness, extreme sleepiness
  • stomach pain, nausea
  • dizziness
  • flushing (hot or warm feeling in your face)
  • arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat)
  • heart palpitations (very fast heartbeat)
  • muscle rigidity, tremor and/or abnormal muscle movement

High Blood Pressure (hypertension)

  • High blood pressure comes from blood pushing too hard against your blood vessels
  • TRILOSACAR relaxes your blood vessels, which lets your blood flow more easily and helps lower your blood pressure
  • Drugs that lower blood pressure lower your risk of having a stroke or heart attack

Angina

  • Angina is a pain or discomfort that keeps coming back when part of your heart does not get enough blood. Angina feels like a pressing or squeezing pain, usually in your chest under the rib bone
  • Sometimes you can feel it in your shoulders, arms, neck, jaws, or back. TRILOSACAR can relieve this pain

Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH)

  • Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH) is an enlargement of the walls of the left chamber of the heart (the heart’s main pumping chamber). LVH can happen from several things. High blood pressure is the most common cause of LVH
  • Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
  • Do not use after the expiry date
  • Keep it out of reach of children
