TRAVOPURE contains travoprost which belongs to a group of medicines called prostaglandin analogues. It works by reducing pressure in the eye which can lead to an illness called a glaucoma. It is absorbed through cornea, where it is hydrolyzed to free travoprost acid. After one to two hours of application, highest concentrations of the acid in the eye are reached. There it exerts their ocular hypotensive effect by increasing uveoscleral outflow through the prostaglandin FP receptors, located in the ciliary muscle and in the trabecular meshwork.
The recommended dose is one drop in affected eye or eyes, once a day in evening or as directed by your physician.
