FAQs ABOUT TRAVOPROSTIN T
Can TRAVOPROSTIN T be used to treat high blood pressure?
No. TRAVOPROSTIN T is only used to reduce increased pressure in the eye. Although timolol is a beta-blocker medicine, when given as an ophthalmic solution (eye drops), it helps in reducing only the elevated intraocular pressure in the eye. However, if you have an elevated blood pressure, contact your doctor for a suitable antihypertensive medicine. Avoid concomitant use of TRAVOPROSTIN T with other antihypertensive medicine or beta-blockers on your own without consulting your doctor.
Can TRAVOPROSTIN T cause bradycardia (slow heartbeat)?
Yes. TRAVOPROSTIN T can cause decrease in heartbeat in some individuals, although not everybody gets them. Contact your doctor if you are experiencing any unusual symptoms such as breathing difficulty or abnormal heart rhythm etc. Before using TRAVOPROSTIN T inform your doctor about previous medical history related to heart.
Can TRAVOPROSTIN T cause hair loss?
TRAVOPROSTIN T has increased ability to alter the pattern of a normal hair growth cycle. Although excessive hair growth and abnormal growth of eye lashes are more prevalent among patients, it can also cause hair loss (alopecia) in some individuals. Contact your doctor before using TRAVOPROSTIN T.
Can TRAVOPROSTIN T cause headache?
Yes. TRAVOPROSTIN T can cause headache in some individuals. Rest and relax. Try to drink lot of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if required. Do not consume too much of alcohol. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Can I stop using TRAVOPROSTIN T once my symptoms subside?
No. Do not stop using TRAVOPROSTIN T unless your doctor tells you to do so, because pre-mature discontinuation of TRAVOPROSTIN T can increase the risk of other eye problems (including reduced vision or complete blindness). Therefore, continue to use TRAVOPROSTIN T as long as your doctor prescribes you to achieve better control of elevated pressure within the eye.
