INTRODUCTION

TORSID PLUS 50/MG is a fixed-dose combination of Spironolactone and Torsemide which belongs to the group of medicines called Diuretics. It is used to treat edema (fluid accumulation) in the body that is associated with secondary hyperaldosteronism (excessive secretion of aldosterone due to kidney problems), liver cirrhosis (inflammation of the liver), congestive heart failure, nephrotic syndrome (a kidney disorder which excretes more protein in urine) or resistant hypertension (high blood pressure that cannot be controlled by medicines).

Spironolactone is a potassium sparing diuretic and torsemide is a loop diuretic. They act by removing the excess water and certain electrolytes (sodium and chloride) from the body in the form of urine. Unlike other diuretics, TORSID PLUS 50/MG retains potassium in the body which prevents the risk of developing hypokalaemia (low blood potassium levels).

Before taking TORSID PLUS 50/MG inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems. Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking TORSID PLUS 50/MG as it may make you feel dizzy or faint even while changing posture.

Avoid consuming potassium rich diet or potassium supplements while taking TORSID PLUS 50/MG, as it may further increase the levels of potassium in your body. TORSID PLUS 50/MG is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women due to increased risk of side effects.

TORSID PLUS 50/MG may alters the levels of electrolytes in your body and may make you feel dizzy or tired very easily. To avoid this, your doctor would regularly monitor your serum electrolyte levels and increase or decrease the dose of this medicine accordingly.

The most common side effects of [GBKEYWORD] are headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, increased urination, or impotence. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect bothers you.
