TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT contains Tobramycin which belongs to the group of medicines known as Antibiotics. It is used in the treatment of external infections of the eye and its adnexa caused by susceptible bacteria.
Bacterial conjunctivitis is the infection of the transparent membrane (conjunctiva) that lines the eyelid and covers the white part of your eyeball. Symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis include pain, discomfort, redness, itching, irritation and watering of the eyes.
Do not wear contact lens if you have ocular infection while using TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT. Remove the contact lenses before using TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT and can put them back after 15 minutes of use.
TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT should be used with caution in patients who have ever had neuromuscular disorders, such as myasthenia gravis or Parkinson’s disease.
TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT should be used with caution in pregnant women or if you think you may be pregnant and in breastfeeding woman. Consult your doctor before using.
The safety and effectiveness of TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT in children under the age of 2 months has not been established.
The common side effects of using this medicine are swollen, itchiness in eyelids, eye irritation, redness of eyes, watery eyes. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT effectively works against the disease-causing bacteria by binding irreversibly to one of two amino glycoside binding sites on the 30 S ribosomal subunit of bacteria thereby terminating the bacterial growth.
Always use TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT exactly as directed by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Apply the medicine into the affected eye 1 to 2 times a day or as directed by the physician. Your doctor will administer the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

Do not drive or handle any machines while using this medicine, since it may cause blurred vision or other visual disturbances.

Does TOBRAM EYE OINTMENT cause eye irritation?
Yes, it may cause itching and burning sensation of eye in some patients. Close your eyes and relax for some time to reduce irritation. Place an ice pack over the eyes for few minutes. Avoid watching mobile phone, system, laptop or any other light sources which might irritate your eyes. If the symptom persists or worsens, contact your doctor.
