THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION contains Streptokinase which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-thrombotic agents. It is used to dissolve blood clots formed within the blood vessels. By dissolving blood clots, it helps in reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs), deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in the blood vessels supplying the legs) and arterial thrombosis (blood clot in arteries).
It can also be used for clearing the blockage (occlusion) of arteriovenous cannulae (a device used for blood circulation) as an alternative to surgical intervention when acceptable flow cannot otherwise be achieved.
Before receiving THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have any bleeding or blood clotting disorders, stroke, stomach inflammation or any internal conditions that can increase of bleeding, or if you have recently undergone a surgery as a precaution.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with uncontrollably high blood pressure and in women who recently delivered a child or suffered a miscarriage. It is also not suitable for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
The most common side effects of receiving THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION are bleeding at the injection site, bruising of the skin, increased bleeding tendency, irregular heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, fever and chills. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect troubles you.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION is fibrinolytic agent. It works by dissolving the harmful fibrin blood clots formed within the blood vessels. As a result, it improves blood flow within the blood vessels which helps in the prevention of complications caused due to blood clots such as heart attack, stroke, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis and arterial thrombosis.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein (intravenously) or into the artery (intraarterially).
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of infection.
Consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects after receiving THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION:
Drink plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Consuming ORS can also be beneficial. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If your diarrhea worsens, contact your doctor immediately.
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if nausea worsens.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION may pass through breast milk. Therefore, it is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. However, consult your doctor before receiving it.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while receiving THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
Talk to your doctor before receiving THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION if you are allergic to Streptokinase.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with tuberculosis or severe bronchitis. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
THROMBOFLUX 1500000IU INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with uncontrollably high blood pressure or inflammation surrounding the membranes of the heart (endocarditis).
