What is TACREL Ointment used for?

TACREL Ointment capsule is used to suppress the body’s immune system to prevent organ rejection after an organ transplant surgery.

TACREL Ointment topical is used to treat skin conditions, such as eczema when other medications are not effective.

TACREL Ointment may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

How does TACREL Ointment work?

TACREL Ointment belongs to the class of drugs called immunosuppressants. The drug acts by inhibiting certain enzymes that help in suppressing the body’s immune system. This prevents the release of antibodies, which enables the body to accept a foreign organ.

How to use TACREL Ointment?

  • Swallow the capsule whole. Do not chew or tear open the capsule. Take the drug with or without food. However, taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.
