INTRODUCTION

T MITE CREAM contains Permethrin which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-parasitic agents. It is indicated for the treatment of scabies, pediculosis (lice) and crab louse infections.

Scabies is a condition that cause itchy skin caused by a tiny burrowing mite called Sarcoptes scabiei. It can cause intense itching in the area where the mite burrows.

T MITE CREAM is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to chrysanthemums (a flower). T MITE CREAM should be used with caution in patients having lung diseases and eczema (skin disease).

It is not recommended for use in infants below 2 months of age and should be used with caution in children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.

T MITE CREAM is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Consult with your doctor before using.

The most common side effects of using T MITE CREAM are itching, redness of skin, tingling, prickling, skin burning sensation and dry skin. Ask for your doctor’s advice if any of these worsen or persists for a longer duration.

USES OF T MITE CREAM

Used to treat:

  • scabies
  • pediculosis
  • crab louse infections

HOW T MITE CREAM WORKS

T MITE CREAM helps in treating scabies and head lice by acting on the nerve cells of the disease-causing organism and alters the movements of certain ions (sodium ions) which leads to loss of their function. This causes respiratory failure of the disease-causing organism and hence, their destruction.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always apply T MITE CREAM as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. The medicine should be applied on all the affected areas. Your doctor will give the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

Wash hands before and after the application of T MITE CREAM. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids, nose and mouth.

SIDE EFFECTS OF T MITE CREAM

COMMON

  • itching
  • redness of skin
  • tingling, prickling, skin burning sensation
  • dry skin

RARE

Stop using T MITE CREAM and inform your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following side effects:

  • skin irritation
  • signs of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash, fever, difficulty in breathing or swallowing, scaly or flaky skin)

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY

T MITE CREAM is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using.

BREASTFEEDING

T MITE CREAM is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

T MITE CREAM is not known to affect your ability to drive or use machines. Consult with your doctor.

ALLERGY

Do not use T MITE CREAM if you are allergic to Permethrin or any other pyrethroid such as resmethrin, sumithrin or any of its ingredients.

OTHERS

Before using T MITE CREAM inform your doctor if you have:

  • eczema

Use in paediatrics:

T MITE CREAM is not recommended for use in infants below 2 months of age. Your doctor will give the right dose depends on your child’s age, body weight and disease condition. Consult with your doctor before using.

Use in geriatrics:

T MITE CREAM should be used with caution in elderly patients above 70 years of age. Consult with your doctor before using.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

Before using T MITE CREAM, inform your doctor if you are taking, have taken or might take any other medicine, including prescription, non-prescription, herbal medicine or the following medicine:

  • corticosteroids such as clobetasol, betamethasone (use to treat skin allergies)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else uses too much of T MITE CREAM, it should be washed off with soap and warm water. In case of accidental ingestion of T MITE CREAM, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
