INTRODUCTION

T HEXY 2MG contains Trihexyphenidyl which belongs to the group of medicines called Central Anticholinergics. It is used to improve muscle control in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is a long-term brain disorder that causes muscle stiffness, shaking, slow and unsteady movements, difficulty in walking and loss of balance. It happens due to loss of nerve cells at certain regions of brain (basal ganglia) that controls body movements.

T HEXY 2MG can also be used to control abnormal involuntary muscle movements (such as extreme restlessness or muscle spasms) in the body that is caused due to the use of certain medicines.

Trihexyphenidyl is a muscle relaxant. It reduces muscle stiffness and relaxes muscles by reducing the activity of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine in the brain. It also restores a balance between certain brain chemicals (dopamine and acetylcholine) that controls body movements. Before taking T HEXY 2MG, inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, high blood pressure, stomach ulcer or problems in your prostate gland. You must also inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems before taking T HEXY 2MG as a precaution.

Consult your doctor before taking T HEXY 2MG if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of taking T HEXY 2MG are dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
