What is SUMINAT 25MG?

What SUMINAT 25MG is used for?

  • It is used to treat migraine headache

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to Sumatriptan or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have a heart problem such as narrowing of the arteries (Ischaemic heart disease) or chest pains (angina) or have already had a heart attack
  • have circulation problems in your legs that cause cramp-like pains when you walk (peripheral vascular disease)
  • have had a stroke or a mini-stroke (also called a transient ischaemic attack or TIA)
  • have high blood pressure
  • have serious liver, kidney disease
  • are a heavy smoker
  • are a woman who has been through the menopause
  • have a history of fits (seizures)
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • Do not breast-feed your baby for 12 hours after using this medicine
  • SUMINAT 25MG is not recommended for children under 12 years old
  • Either the symptoms of migraine or SUMINAT 25MG may make you drowsy. If you are affected, do not drive or operate machinery

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • ergotamine, methysergide or any triptan/5-HT1 receptor agonists such as naratriptan, rizatriptan, zolmitriptan (used for treating migraine)
  • (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors) or SNRIs (Serotonin Noradrenaline Reuptake Inhibitors), MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) (used to treat depression)
  • sulphonamides (used to treat infections)
  • Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you

If you use more SUMINAT 25MG

  • Do not use more than two SUMINAT 25MG in 24 hours
  • Using too much of this medicine could make you ill. If you have used more than two medicines in 24 hours, Contact your doctor for advice

If you forget to use SUMINAT 25MG

  • If you forget to use your dose of SUMINAT 25MG, unless it is almost time for your next dose, use it as soon as you remember. Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

 If you stop using SUMINAT 25MG

  • Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very Rare
  • unpleasant taste
  • heaviness, pressure, tightness or pain in the chest, throat or other parts of the body, or feelings of unusual sensations, including numbness, tingling and warmth or cold. these effects may be intense but generally pass quickly
  • chest pain
  • heart attack
  • irritation or burning sensation in the nose or throat; nose bleeds
  • nausea or vomiting
  • tiredness or drowsiness
  • dizziness, feeling weak or getting hot flushes
  • temporary increase in blood pressure
  • shortness of breath
  • aching muscles
  • liver function changes

  • Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
