SUCCIMED 125MG contains Prednisolone which belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids or 'steroids'

Talk to your doctor before using this medicine, if you:
- are allergic to prednisolone or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have viral infection such as measles, chickenpox or shingles or any other infection
- have severe depression or manic-depressive illness (bipolar disorder)
- have TB (tuberculosis)
- have diabetes mellitus
- have epilepsy
- have an eye disease (glaucoma)
- have osteoporosis (thinning of the bones)
- have stomach ulcers
- have high blood pressure or heart failure
- have liver or kidney problems
- have an under-active thyroid (hypothyroidism)
- are going to receive an organ transplant
- have scleroderma (also known as systemic sclerosis, an autoimmune disorder)
Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines such as:
- medicines for HIV such as ritonavir, cobicistat
- warfarin used to prevent blood clots
- insulin used for diabetes
- carbamazepine and phenytoin used for epilepsy
- medicines to treat high blood pressure, such as diuretics like bendroflumethiazide and furosemide
- oral contraceptives
- rifampicin, erythromycin and ketoconazole – used in fungal infections
- theophylline, salbutamol and salmeterol used to treat asthma
- ciclosporin used to suppress the immune system
- methotrexate used to treat a variety of illnesses such as arthritis
- anticoagulants for example warfarin which is used to thin the blood
- carbenoxolone which is used for ulcers
- antacids such as magnesium trisilicate or aluminium hydroxide, used to treat the symptoms of heartburn and indigestion
- cardiac glycosides for example digoxin which is used to help strengthen a weak heart
- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen and indomethacin used for pain relief or to treat rheumatic disease
- somatropin which is a growth hormone
- carbimazole used to treat thyroid disorder
- isoniazid which is used to treat tuberculosis
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- itching or skin rashes
- swelling of the face, lips or throat
- difficulty in breathing or wheeziness
- increased pain and swelling after the injection
- feeling depressed, suicidal thoughts
- feeling high (mania)
- feeling anxious, having problems sleeping, difficulty in thinking or being confused and losing your memory
- having strange and frightening thoughts, changing how you act or having feelings of being alone
- feeling dependent or addicted to this medicine
