What is SOLUDINE M PLUS and why is it given?
SOLUDINE M PLUS contains Ornidazole and Povidone Iodine which belongs to the group of medicines called Nitroimidazoles and Antiseptics. It is used to prevent, control, treat and improve condition and symptoms of wound infection, minor cuts, burns, boils, ulcers, blisters, abrasion and certain bacterial, fungal and protozoan infections, also used treat infections that occurs after surgical procedures.
What are the common side effects of SOLUDINE M PLUS?
The most common side effects associated with the use of SOLUDINE M PLUS are local irritation, rashes, burning sensation, stinging and redness. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect worsens or bothers you.
Who should avoid applying SOLUDINE M PLUS?
SOLUDINE M PLUS is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to ornidazole and povidone iodine and it is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using SOLUDINE M PLUS.
Can SOLUDINE M PLUS be used in children?
SOLUDINE M PLUS is not recommended for use in children (below 2 years of age) and in neonates. If SOLUDINE M PLUS is accidentally ingested by a child or adolescent, go to the hospital immediately and consult the doctor for further management.
How SOLUDINE M PLUS should be applied?
Apply SOLUDINE M PLUS as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area before the application. Wash your hands before and after applying SOLUDINE M PLUS. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids. Your doctor will decide the duration of treatment depending upon the severity of the infection or wound.
