Rubired tablet is an iron supplement which is used in the treatment and prevention of anemia due to lack of folic acid in adults and children, anemia in pregnancy and anemia due to damaged red blood cells. It is used to improve overall growth and good health. It contains ferrous ascorbate, folic acid and cyanocobalamin.
Folic acid can also be given to some women before and during pregnancy to prevent spina bifida (an abnormality of the spine) in babies, which can be caused by deficiency of this vitamin. Iron is important for the health of the mother and developing baby. Not enough iron may lead to anemia in either the mother or baby. It is therefore important that the body gets enough iron for both the mother and the developing baby. Cyanocobalamin is also used to treat anemia and maintains nerve health.
