RIFEASY 200MG TABLET contains Rifaximin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used in adults to treat traveller´s diarrhoea. Traveller´s diarrhoea is a common travel-related illness of digestive tract that is commonly caused by eating contaminated food or by drinking contaminated water while travelling. As a result, it leads to severe stomach cramps and diarrhea (loose stools).
Rifaximin is an intestinal antibiotic. It kills the susceptible bacteria that causes infection by blocking the actions of certain enzymes in the bacteria which is required for its survival. As a result, it stops the growth and multiplication of the harmful bacteria in the gut and controls diarrhea.
Take RIFEASY 200MG TABLET for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy. Inform your doctor if you can’t notice any improvement in your condition or if you feel worse after 3 days of therapy.
RIFEASY 200MG TABLET should not be used in patients having bloody diarrhea or diarrhea accompanied by fever and in patients passing unformed (soft or liquid) stools for more than 8 times a day. It is also not suitable for use in patients having any stomach problems (such as constipation, vomiting, or stomach pain due to blockage in the gut).
Inform your doctor before taking RIFEASY 200MG TABLET if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or breastfeeding as a precaution. RIFEASY 200MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in children (aged below 18 years).

Nausea or vomiting:
Take RIFEASY 200MG TABLET along with, or just after meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Stick on to simple healthy foods. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.
Constipation:
Eat more fibre rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals. Drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if this side effect bothers you.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Diarrhoea:
Hydrate yourself by drinking plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juices. Consuming ORS can also be beneficial. Do not self-treat diarrhea on your own. Consult your doctor if your diarrhea becomes uncontrollable or if you see blood in your stools.
