What REPAVERINE is used for?

REPAVERINE is recommended in various conditions accompanied by spasm of:

  • smooth muscle, such as vascular spasm associated with acute myocardial infarction (coronary occlusion), angina pectoris, peripheral and pulmonary embolism, peripheral vascular disease in which there is a vasospastic element or certain cerebral angiospastic states and visceral spasm, as in ureteral, biliary or gastrointestinal colic

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to Papaverine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have hepatic hypersensitivity with gastrointestinal symptoms such as jaundice, or eosinophilia
  • have an atrioventricular heart block
  • have a paroxysmal tachycardia
  • have a priapism condition
  • have glaucoma
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

Tell your doctor about all the medicines you use, including prescription and non-prescription medicines and herbal supplements.

  • It is usually given intravenously or intramuscularly by a doctor or nurse

If you give more REPAVERINE

  • It is unlikely that you will be given too much or too little, however, tell your doctor or nurse  
  • Symptoms of overdosage: vasomotor instability and include nausea, vomiting, weakness, central nervous system- depression, nystagmus, diplopia, diaphoresis, flushing, dizziness, and sinus tachycardia, metabolic acidosis with hyperventilation, hyperglycemia, and hypokalemia

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
