INTRODUCTION
RENYLE TABLET is a combination of Alpha lipoic acid, Methylcobalamin, Folic acid and Pyridoxine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antioxidants and Vitamin B complex respectively. It is used to treat diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage occurring over time because of high sugar and fat levels in the blood due to diabetes).
Symptoms depend on the type of neuropathy, such as pain and numbness in your feet or problems with organ functions like those of your heart and bladder. It can also be used to treat general weakness and convalescence (recovering from an illness or injury).
RENYLE TABLET is not recommended for use in children, so consult your doctor before taking it. Before taking RENYLE TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems, cancer, a tumour, pernicious anaemia, are undergoing dialysis or if you have a coronary stent.
RENYLE TABLET should not be used in pregnant women unless necessary. RENYLE TABLET is not recommended for use by breastfeeding women. The most common side effects of RENYLE TABLET are headache, low blood pressure, shortness of breath, a hot sensation or sweating. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms get worse.

HOW RENYLE TABLET WORKS
RENYLE TABLET helps relieve nerve pain where methylcobalamin takes part in the production of myelin, a compound that covers and protects nerve fibres, thus restoring the damaged nerve cell and alpha-lipoic acid reduces oxidative stress, which is considered the main pathophysiology of diabetic neuropathy development. Folic acid (Vitamin B9) improves the functional recovery of nerves, the speed of nerve conduction and cell multiplication, while pyridoxine acts as a coenzyme in a wide range of metabolic functions affecting protein, carbohydrate and lipid utilization, like the breakdown of glycogen to glucose-1-phosphate and the synthesis of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take RENYLE TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you based on your age, body weight and disease condition.

COMMON

RARE
- loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea
- abdominal swelling, gas
- allergic reactions (redness, rash, itching, hives, breathlessness and anaphylactic reactions including shock)
Stop taking RENYLE TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- allergic reaction (rash, itching, breathlessness, swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat)
- decrease in blood sugar levels
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Headache:
Drink an ample amount of water and get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress-free. Ask your doctor before taking any medicine for a headache. If the headache does not improve, contact your doctor.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
RENYLE TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered necessary. Consult your doctor before taking it.
BREASTFEEDING
RENYLE TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel sleepy or dizzy after taking RENYLE TABLET.
ALCOHOL
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking RENYLE TABLET because it may cause serious problems if you are thiamine deficient.
KIDNEY
RENYLE TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with kidney problems or those undergoing haemodialysis due to kidney failure. Consult your doctor before taking it.
LIVER
RENYLE TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking it.
ALLERGY
Do not take RENYLE TABLET if you are allergic to Alpha lipoic acid, Methylcobalamin, Folic acid, Pyridoxine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
HEART DISEASE
RENYLE TABLET should be taken with caution in patients who have received a coronary stent (a tube inserted in the artery that leads to the heart, to prevent blockages). Consult your doctor before taking it.
OTHERS
RENYLE TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- have Leber’s disease (a genetic disease causing sudden vision loss)
Before taking RENYLE TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have under or overactive thyroid
- have diabetes (high blood sugar)
- have polycythaemia vera (high numbers of red blood cells)
- have megaloblastic anaemia (abnormal red blood cells)
- have pernicious anaemia (prevention of vitamin B12 absorption) or could be having a vitamin B12 deficiency
- have cancer (unless you have anaemia due to folic acid deficiency)
- have a tumour
Use in Pediatrics:
RENYLE TABLET is not recommended for use in children. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Use in Geriatrics:
Your doctor will prescribe the right dose of RENYLE TABLET depending on your age, body weight and health condition. Consult your doctor before taking it.
INTERACTIONS
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking RENYLE TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- medicines used to treat bacterial infections (Ex. neomycin, aminosalicylic acid, trimethoprim, sulphonamides, cotrimoxazole, chloramphenicol)
- medicines used to prevent stomach ulcers (Ex. famotidine, omeprazole)
- colchicine (used to treat gout)
- medicines used to prevent pregnancy (Ex. ethinylestradiol, norethindrone)
- medicines used to treat diabetes (Ex. insulin, metformin, glimepiride)
- medicines used to control epileptic fits (Ex. phenytoin, fosphenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone)
- medicines used to treat certain tumours (Ex. fluorouracil, methotrexate)
- medicines used to treat indigestion (Ex. edible clay, aluminium, magnesium)
- zinc (supplement important in pregnancy)
- sulfasalazine (used to treat inflammatory bowel diseases like ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease)
- cholestyramine (used to reduce blood cholesterol)
- levodopa (used to treat Parkinson’s disease)
- isoniazid (used to treat tuberculosis)
- penicillamine (used to treat arthritis)
- pyrimethamine (used to treat parasitic infections)
- amiodarone (used to treat irregular heartbeat)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of RENYLE TABLET, contact your doctor immediately.

Q: Can RENYLE TABLET cause sunburn?
A: Taking RENYLE TABLET along with amiodarone (a medicine used to treat irregular heartbeat) might increase the chances of sunburn, blistering or rashes on the skin exposed to sunlight. Wear sunblock, a screen and protective clothing when you are out in the sun, without fail.
Q: Can RENYLE TABLET be given to children?
A: No, RENYLE TABLET is intended for adults and should not be used by children. Your doctor will select a suitable alternative treatment for your child.
Q: Can I take RENYLE TABLET if I have received a coronary stent?
A: No. Avoid using RENYLE TABLET after receiving a coronary stent (a tube inserted in the artery that leads to the heart to prevent blockages), as it may increase the risk of blood vessel narrowing. Consult your doctor for further doubts.
Q: What if I forget to take a dose of RENYLE TABLET?
A: If you forget to take a dose of RENYLE TABLET, take it as soon as you remember. However, omit the missed dose if it is almost time for the next one. Do not take the medicine twice to make up for the forgotten dose.
Q: Can I take RENYLE TABLET if I have any eye problems?
A: Do not take RENYLE TABLET if you have Leber’s disease (a genetic disease-causing sudden vision loss), as it can seriously harm the optic nerve, which might cause blindness. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you have any other eye problems.
Q: Can RENYLE TABLET be stopped?
A: Continue taking RENYLE TABLET until your doctor tells you to stop, unless you experience any unwanted effects, a worsening of your condition or any new symptoms. Contact your doctor in such a case.
Q: Can I consume alcohol during treatment with RENYLE TABLET?
A: Avoid consuming alcohol with RENYLE TABLET treatment as it can lower the amount of thiamine (vitamin B1) in the body. Taking this medicine when there is a thiamine deficiency might cause serious health problems. Consult your doctor for further doubts.
