INTRODUCTION

RELADOL contains Tolperisone which is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. It has been used for symptomatic treatment of spasticity and muscle spasm. Effectively it reduces the muscular hypertonicity, improves peripheral blood flow by vasodilatation and reduces pain.

Always take this medicine as directed by physician. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of therapy depending upon your age, weight and condition. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. It is not recommended for the use in children and adolescents under 18 years. Do not take this medicine, if you suffer from Myasthenia gravis. RELADOL should be used with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine. Tell your doctor, if you are taking or taken or might take any other medicines. The most common side effects include dizziness, sleepiness and tiredness.

HOW RELADOL WORKS

RELADOL is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. It works in the centers of the brain and spinal cord and to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and thus improves the condition.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always take RELADOL as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the medicine whole with plenty of water. If you take more medicine, than you should, talk to your doctor. The signs of overdose can include dizziness, drowsiness, headache.

SIDE EFFECTS OF RELADOL

COMMON

  • diarrhea
  • dizziness
  • drowsiness
  • dryness of the mouth
  • fall of blood pressure
  • fatigue, gastric complaints
  • headache
  • hypersensitivity, itching, rash
  • muscle pain, muscle weakness

RARE

  • increased sweating
  • confusion, severe allergic reaction (allergic shock)

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Skin itching:

Avoid bath in hot water because hot water can irritate the skin. Moisturizers can be used regular basis to soothe and hydrate the affected area.

Diarrhea:

Drink lot of fluid, such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor.

PREGNANCY

RELADOL should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

BREASTFEEDING

RELADOL is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Do not drive or operate any machinery while taking this medicine, it may make you feel dizziness, blurred vision.

ALCOHOL

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with RELADOL.

KIDNEY

RELADOL should be taken with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

LIVER

RELADOL should be taken with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

ALLERGY

Do not take if you are allergic to this medicine.

OTHERS

Do not take RELADOL if you:

  • suffer from Myasthenia gravis (an immunological disease associated with muscle weakness)

INTERACTIONS

Talk to your doctor if you are taking:

  • medicines to treat pain and inflammation (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - NSAIDs)
  • other medicines, to relax the muscles (centrally acting muscle relaxants)
