RAZO 20MG INJECTION contains Rabeprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Proton pump inhibitors. It is used to treat Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and peptic ulcer. It is used as an alternative to oral therapy when patients are not able to swallow rabeprazole orally.
GERD is a chronic digestive disease in which the stomach acid frequently flows into the oesophagus leading to the irritation of lining of the food pipe. Symptoms include heartburn, chest pain, nausea, sensation of lump in throat and stomach discomfort.
Peptic ulcers are painful sores that develop on the linings of the stomach, oesophagus and/or intestines. Symptoms include stomach pain, flatulence, indigestion, vomiting and fatigue.
RAZO 20MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein. Before starting the treatment with RAZO 20MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you have any liver problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have vitamin B12 deficiency, osteoporosis or any tumours in your stomach.
Inform your doctor before receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION are sore throat, cough, flu-like symptoms, constipation, indigestion, stomach pain, headache and dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect troubles you.
You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience severe uncontrollable diarrhea with stomach pain or tenderness after receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION.
RAZO 20MG INJECTION is a proton pump inhibitor. It reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach by blocking the actions of an enzyme called H+ K+ ATPase (also known as proton pump) which is present in the lining of the stomach walls. As a result, it reduces the chances for acid reflux into the oesophagus, heals peptic ulcers and esophageal lesions and prevents its recurrence.
RAZO 20MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein (as intravenously). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects after receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION:
Nausea and vomiting:
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Diarrhea:
Drink plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Consuming ORS can also be beneficial. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If your diarrhea worsens, contact your doctor immediately.
RAZO 20MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
RAZO 20MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel sleepy after receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION.
Avoid consumption of alcohol before receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION.
RAZO 20MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
Talk to your doctor before receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Rabeprazole.

When should I take RAZO 20MG INJECTION?
RAZO 20MG INJECTION is not meant for self-administration. It will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein (as intravenously).
What are the long-term side effects of RAZO 20MG INJECTION?
Taking RAZO 20MG INJECTION especially over the time of a year can slightly increase the risk of hip, wrist, or spine fracture. Inform your doctor if you suffer from osteoporosis or if you are taking corticosteroids which can increase the risk of osteoporosis. It may also cause vitamin B12 deficiency and low magnesium levels in the blood.
Can I stop therapy with RAZO 20MG INJECTION once my symptoms subside?
Do not stop therapy with RAZO 20MG INJECTION without consulting your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy. Make sure to receive all the doses of RAZO 20MG INJECTION for the stipulated duration recommended by your doctor to achieve complete healing of ulcers.
What precautions should be followed while taking RAZO 20MG INJECTION?
Before receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you have any liver problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have vitamin B12 deficiency, osteoporosis or any tumors in your stomach. Inform your doctor before receiving RAZO 20MG INJECTION if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
